Floating adrift according to wind,
rising even higher,
till the distinction
of trees and houses and people,
even cities and mountains,
blur into a smog
of discoloration.

My mind, like a balloon,
loose on an undetermined course,
traversing the layers of consciousness,
surpassing the euphoria
of psychedelic intoxication,
and seeping through
the thin veil between
empirical and spirit,
where theory is real
and physical only a dream.
 

Observing and studying
this mental voyage,
the written word becomes the signpost
for this unsane path,
where the birth
of nebulous fecundity
warrants the
psychological abreaction.

 

 

      

 

 
 

Computer Services and Programs

About our Computers

The Patients’ Library at ESH has five computers for patron use.  Four of the five computers are connected to the Internet.  

PROGRAMS ON THE LIBRARY’S COMPUTERS

On-Line People Access Catalog
(for ESH patrons only)

The OPAC replaces the old card catalog. To start searching the  on-line public access catalog click the OPAC.lnk icon on the computer desktop.  You can search by keyword, title, author, subject, series, call number, etc.   

Microsoft Office 97

You can type a letter, create a spread sheet or design a presentation using the Microsoft Office 97 programs.   I

Internet/E-mail Service

Using the big blue e icon on your desktop, you can access the (World Wide Web) Internet on the black computers.  The putty colored computer is used for e-mail only.   NOTE:  Most computer viruses are downloaded through e-mail.  In an effort to safeguard our computers from viruses, e-mail activity is prohibited on the black computers.  

 Graphic Programs

On our graphics programs you can create stationary, greeting cards, posters, banners, calling cards, brochures, newsletters, etc.

Tutorials

  Let Mavis Beacon teach you the correct way to type or to improve your typing skills. 

Use the American Sign Language cd-rom to learn sign language. 

 

Learn Windows Basics, Word, Excel, and Power Point in the Library’s Computer Class (Ask library staff about taking the 6-8 week course.)
