Health - Hope - Healing
Eastern State Hospital, part of the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services system, was founded in 1773 with a well-intentioned emphasis on community-focused mental health care. The Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, is situated on 500 acres and consists of 16 buildings. The 417-bed facility provides treatment to approximately 400 patients with about 1000 staff.
